Today we will have fun at Lake District.

We’re kicking off the drive with Eccle Riggs Lane as our first waypoint. From there, the real fun (and challenge) begins…

Hardknott Pass is one of the wildest roads in England. It climbs up to 393 meters high through the hills of the Lake District. The road is very steep — as much as 33% in some places. That means it feels almost like driving up a wall! It twists and turns with sharp bends, more than a dozen of them. The road is narrow, with rough, bumpy asphalt. Cars pass each other with care — sometimes only inches apart. In rain or snow, it can be scary and dangerous. But for those who dare, it’s a ride full of thrill and beauty.

📍 Kirkstone Pass – The Highest Pass in the District (open to traffic)
Altitude: Tops out at 454 meters (1,491 ft)
Nickname: The Struggle (for good reason!)

📍 Whinlatter Pass
Located in the northern Lakes, linking Braithwaite to Lorton
Much less aggressive than the previous passes — perfect for cooling things down a bit

After soaking in the coastal breeze at Maryport, we pointed the M's inland again and headed towards NCN 7, Penrith — and wow, what a view. 🤯|📍 NCN 7 Scenic Stop – Near Penrith

Sunday | Today's drive from West to East Coast.

A quick detour — turns out we drifted slightly off our planned route, but no complaints here! We’re soaking in the local vibes and loving every moment of the unexpected scenery. By the Ewegales Farm campsite.

After a bit of unintentional looping, we’re back on track and heading straight to the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct. We took a short break there — snapped a few photos, stretched our legs, and soaked in the stunning views before hitting the road again.

We made a stop by the Ribblehead Viaduct is one of the most iconic and dramatic railway structures in the UK, located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, North Yorkshire, England.

🍻 Next Waypoint: The Legendary Tan Hill Inn! 🏔️

⛽️ After leaving Tan Hill Inn, we made a quick stop to fill up the cars — fuel for the machines before more miles ahead! On the way, we came across a great spot for a proper club photo. Couldn’t miss the chance to line them up and capture the moment!

Next up: the stunning Yorkshire Moors 🌿

From here, we’re cruising toward Whitby, our final destination and the closing chapter of this unforgettable tour.

We reach Whitby. Time to say our goodbyes, but what a journey it’s been! ✨

See you in 2026! Possibly in Wales and/or doing NC500!
